Samudera Shipping lines signs contract for 2 container vessels

Singapore based leading shipping operator, Samudera Shipping lines ltd. has signed a contract to construct two new container vessels, the aggregate construction price is approximately USD 66 million, as reported by the media sources.

The new vessels with a capacity of 1,900 TEUs each, the company made an announcement on Dec 23, 2022, about entering into agreements from an unrelated third party.

In the company’s regulatory filing after trading hours on Jan 6, 2023, the shipping line said the two new vessels purchased from an unrelated third party are expected to be delivered in the fourth quarter of 2024 and early 2025.

The acquisition of the vessels is not expected to have any material impact on the net tangible assets and earnings per share of the group for the financial year 2022, the statement said as reported and informed by the media sources.
